إن الحمد لله نحمده ونستعينه ونستغفره، ونعوذ بالله تعالى من شرور أنفسنا، وسيئات أعمالنا، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وأشهد أن محمداً عبده ورسوله، اللهم صلِّ وسلم وبارك على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وأصحابه ومن تبعه إلى يوم الدين

In my last week talk I discussed the first 6 verses from Surat Yasin (36) and ended the talk by verse 6: 

لِتُنذِرَ قَوۡمً۬ا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ فَهُمۡ غَـٰفِلُونَ (٦)

That you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, so they are heedless.” (Yasin 36:6).

This verse informs the Prophet and in turn us that the purpose of the Quran is to warn any people whose fathers have not delivered to them Allah’s message.  Obviously, when the message is delivered some people will heed the warning and accept it and others will reject it.  Verses 7 to 10 address those who reject the divine message and give them grave warning, Allah says:

لَقَدۡ حَقَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكۡثَرِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ (٧) إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِىٓ أَعۡنَـٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَـٰلاً۬ فَهِىَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَ (٨) وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنۢ بَيۡنِ أَيۡدِيہِمۡ سَدًّ۬ا وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ سَدًّ۬ا فَأَغۡشَيۡنَـٰهُمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يُبۡصِرُونَ (٩) وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡہِمۡ ءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡ أَمۡ لَمۡ تُنذِرۡهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ (١٠)

“The word had indeed come true against the majority of them, so they will not believe. (7) We have placed shackles on their necks and hands pulling them to their chins, and forcing their heads upward. (8) And We have placed a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them, and (thus) they are covered by Us; so, they cannot see. (9) It is same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe.” (Yasin 36:7-10)

These verses raise two questions that deserve serious analysis and require linkage with other verses in the Quran to properly understand them.   

First:  The verses state that there are certain people, actually the majority, whom Allah has already written them off and will not allow them to believe by placing shackles and barriers on them.   This raises the question, is fair that Allah prevents certain people from belief and then punishes them.

Second: The verses state that shackles and barriers are placed on those people to prevent them from believing.   The question is whether these things are merely similitude to give us an idea of the constraints placed on them or are these are real physical constrains.   In the Quran, when Allah wanted to present a similitude, He clearly states that their likeness is like such and such. As example, when Allah spoke of the Hypocrites, He said: 

مَثَلُهُمۡ كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِى ٱسۡتَوۡقَدَ نَارً۬ا فَلَمَّآ أَضَآءَتۡ مَا حَوۡلَهُ ۥ ذَهَبَ ٱللَّهُ بِنُورِهِمۡ وَتَرَكَهُمۡ فِى ظُلُمَـٰتٍ۬ لَّا يُبۡصِرُونَ

‘’Their likeness is as the likeness of one who kindles fire, and when it illuminates everything around him, Allah takes away their lights and leaves them in layers of darkness, so that they see nothing. (Al-Baqara 2:17)

In this verse it is clear that the fire was just a similitude and the hypocrites did not kindle real fire, but in these verses, Allah does not say that their likeness is as the those who have collars on their necks and barriers placed around them.   Therefore, it is appropriate to interpret these verses as being real and that those people actually have collar around their necks and barriers around them to prevent them from believing.   How can this be real?

In this talk, I plan, inshallah to address the first issue and inshallah in next week I’ll try to address the second one.

We must realize that believing in Allah is an honor and Allah will not grant such an honor to several people whose attributes are clearly identified in several verses in the Quran. One of these attributes is arrogance as Allah says in Suart Al-Araf: 

سَأَصۡرِفُ عَنۡ ءَايَـٰتِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَيۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ ڪُلَّ ءَايَةٍ۬ لَّا يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِہَا وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ سَبِيلَ ٱلرُّشۡدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلاً۬ وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ سَبِيلَ ٱلۡغَىِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلاً۬‌ۚ ذَٲلِكَ بِأَنَّہُمۡ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَكَانُواْ عَنۡہَا غَـٰفِلِينَ (١٤٦)

“I shall turn away from My revelations those who show arrogance in the earth with no right to do so and If they were to see every sign, they would not believe in it; and if they see the Path of guidance, they do not take it as their way; and if they see the path of misguidance, they would take it as their way. That is because they have rejected Our signs, and have been disregarding them.” (Al-Araf 7:146)

When reading the Quran, you realize that there are people whom Allah will not guide because they have certain evil attributes.  These attributes that are identified in the Quran include: arrogance (كبر), injustice (ظلم), rebellion (فسق), lying (كذب) and rejection of truth (كفر). 

The question that may still be raised why Allah created people who will not believe and punish them.  Any person who raises question regarding Allah’s actions must consider three key points:

1. The attributes of Allah that we know by studying His glorious names.
2. The questioner needs to have the humility to recognize his level with respect to Allah.
3. We should not mix between Allah having the knowledge and allowing certain actions to proceed and Him influencing people to act based on His knowledge and authority. This is a key point that must be kept in mind, let me state it in different way: “Allah has the knowledge of what every person will do from the time of Adam until the end of life, and He allows certain actions that is displeasing to Him to proceed but He does not influence the people to act based on His knowledge and authority.”

To help you understand this point, you must realize that Allah is not constrained of the time and space that constrain us.  Therefore, you really cannot use past, present and future with Allah because all these terms are time dimensions that we are constrained with but Allah does not.   I realize that it is hard to visualize things without the dimensions of time and space.    But we get some experience with it during our dreams when the time and space dimensions are almost eliminated.

When discussing Allah’s actions, we must consider one of His glorious names Al-Adl (The Justice) and this directly means that there is no way Allah will ever create people with the intention that they will do wrong so He can punish them.   Allah emphasized to anyone who is humble enough to read Allah’s message that He will never do injustice to anyone as He affirmed is so many verses.  As example, Allah says in Surat Al-Nisa:

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَظۡلِمُ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ۬‌ۖ وَإِن تَكُ حَسَنَةً۬ يُضَـٰعِفۡهَا وَيُؤۡتِ مِن لَّدُنۡهُ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمً۬ا (٤٠)

“Indeed, Allah does not do injustice not even of the weight of an atom; and if there is a good deed, He will double it and will give (the doer) from His presence an immense reward” (Al-Nisa 4:40)

All what Allah does is to have complete record of what everyone has done and hold him accountable for it in a completely just way.  Allah says in Surat Al-Kahf:

وَوُضِعَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبُ فَتَرَى ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ مُشۡفِقِينَ مِمَّا فِيهِ وَيَقُولُونَ يَـٰوَيۡلَتَنَا مَالِ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡڪِتَـٰبِ لَا يُغَادِرُ صَغِيرَةً۬ وَلَا كَبِيرَةً إِلَّآ أَحۡصَٮٰهَا‌ۚ وَوَجَدُواْ مَا عَمِلُواْ حَاضِرً۬ا‌ۗ وَلَا يَظۡلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدً۬ا (٤٩(

“And the book (of deeds) will be placed (before them), then you will see the guilty people scared of its contents and saying, “Woe to us! What a book is this! It has missed nothing, minor or major, but has taken it into account.” Thus, they will find whatever they did present before them, and your Lord will not wrong anyone.” (Al-Kahf 18: 49)

So, Allah’s justice cannot be questioned, but some people may still argue that since we cannot do anything without Allah allowing it, so He could have prevented us from committing the sins.  Interesting that Allah knew that this false argument will be made and thus He responded to it in several verses.  As example, Allah says in Surat Al-An’am:

سَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْ لَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَآ أَشۡرَڪۡنَا وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمۡنَا مِن شَىۡءٍ۬‌ۚ ڪَذَٲلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ حَتَّىٰ ذَاقُواْ بَأۡسَنَا‌ۗ قُلۡ هَلۡ عِندَڪُم مِّنۡ عِلۡمٍ۬ فَتُخۡرِجُوهُ لَنَآ‌ۖ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا تَخۡرُصُونَ (١٤٨)

“Those who associate partners with Allah will say, “Had Allah willed, we would have not associated (partners with Him), nor our fathers, nor would we have made anything prohibited.” In the same way those who went before them gave the lie to (the truth) until they tasted Our punishment. Say, “Do you have any sure knowledge that you may produce to us? You follow nothing but an opinion, and do nothing but make guesses.”  (Al-An’am 6:148)

A similar response is given in Surat Al-Nahl:

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْ لَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا عَبَدۡنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىۡءٍ۬ نَّحۡنُ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمۡنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىۡءٍ۬‌ۚ كَذَٲلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ‌ۚ فَهَلۡ عَلَى ٱلرُّسُلِ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَـٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ (٣٥)

“Those who associate partners with Allah said, “Had Allah willed, we would have not worshipped anything other than Him – neither we nor our forefathers – nor would we have made anything prohibited without (a command from) Him.” In the same way, this was what those who were before them did.  Are the messengers charged with anything but to convey the clear message?” (Al-Nahl 16:35)

Also, Allah make it very clear that He does not want disbelief for anyone even though people’s disbelief has no impact on Him.  Allah says: 

إِن تَكۡفُرُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنكُمۡ‌ۖ وَلَا يَرۡضَىٰ لِعِبَادِهِ ٱلۡكُفۡرَ‌ۖ وَإِن تَشۡكُرُواْ يَرۡضَهُ لَكُمۡ‌ۗ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ۬ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰ‌ۗ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُم مَّرۡجِعُڪُمۡ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ‌ۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ (٧)

“If you disbelieve, then, Allah is not in need of you, however He does not like disbelief for His slaves; and if you are grateful, He will like it for you. No one will bear the burden of another. Then, to your Lord is your return; so He will tell you about what you used to do. He is aware of whatever is in the hearts.’ (Al-Zumur: 39:7)

Obviously, if Allah willed it, He could have not allowed people to be disbelievers as He said:

وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَآ أَشۡرَكُواْ‌ۗ وَمَا جَعَلۡنَـٰكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَفِيظً۬ا‌ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيۡہِم بِوَكِيلٍ۬ (١٠٧)

“Had Allah willed, they would not have taken associates (besides Allah). We have not appointed you as a guard over them, nor are you a trustee over them.” (Al-An’am 6:107)

But Allah did not, because He wanted to create the most honorable creation by granting them complete free will to worship Him or not and to obey Him or not.  Allah affirmed that He has honored the children of Adam as He said:

وَلَقَدۡ كَرَّمۡنَا بَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ وَحَمَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِى ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ وَرَزَقۡنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ وَفَضَّلۡنَـٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ ڪَثِيرٍ۬ مِّمَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَا تَفۡضِيلاً۬ (٧٠)

“Indeed, we have honored the children of Adam. We provided them with rides on the land and in the sea, and provided them with a variety of good things and have preferred them above many of those whom We have created with a marked preferment.’ (Al-Isra 17:70)

 Interesting that the word (كَرَّمۡنَا) (Honored) came only once in the Quran and it is related to honoring mankind.   As part of honoring mankind, Allah subjugated for them all that in heaven and earth as He said on Surat Al-Jathiya:

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعً۬ا مِّنۡهُ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَـٰتٍ۬ لِّقَوۡمٍ۬ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ (١٣)

“He has subjugated for you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, it all from Him. Surely in this there are signs for a people who reflect.” (Al-Jathiya 45:13)

Believing in Allah is instinct for any fair-minded human being because Allah actually have taught all mankind about Him at the time of their first creation.  Allah introduced Himself to them and took the covenant from them to believe in Him and associate no one with Him, as He said:

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى شَهِدْنَا أَنْ تَقُولُوا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَذَا غَافِلِينَ أَوْ تَقُولُوا إِنَّمَا أَشْرَكَ آبَاؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ

“When your Lord brought the offspring from the lions of the children of Adam, and made them bear witness about themselves: Am I not your Lord?  They said: Yes, indeed, we bear witness.  Lest you might say on the Day of Resurrection: we were unaware of this. Or lest you say, it was our forefathers who were polytheists and we are their late offspring, will You destroy us for what futile men have done?” (Al-Araf 7:172-173)

 To ensure that no one would claim that he does not remember, Allah sent messengers to every nation to inform them of this covenant and He still maintained for the people the freedom of choice to believe or not. Allah says:

وَلَقَدۡ بَعَثۡنَا فِى ڪُلِّ أُمَّةٍ۬ رَّسُولاً أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ‌ۖ (٣٦)

“And verily We raised in every nation a messenger, (proclaiming): “Worship Allah and stay away from false gods.” (Al-Nahl 16:36)

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ بَشِيرً۬ا وَنَذِيرً۬اۚ وَإِن مِّنۡ أُمَّةٍ إِلَّا خَلَا فِيہَا نَذِيرٌ۬ (٢٤)

‘Surely We have sent you with truth as a bearer of good news and as a warner, and and there is not a nation but a warner has passed among them.’” (Fatir 35:24)

 As part of Allah’s infinite justice, He said that in case some people do not hear of His message from anyone, He will not hold them accountable.  He said:

مَّنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَہۡتَدِى لِنَفۡسِهِۦ‌ۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيۡہَا‌ۚ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ۬ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰ‌ۗ وَمَا كُنَّا مُعَذِّبِينَ حَتَّىٰ نَبۡعَثَ رَسُولاً۬ (١٥)

“Whoever adopts the right path does so for his own benefit, and whoever goes astray does so to his own detriment, and no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another, and We never punish until we have sent a messenger.” (Al-Isra 17:15)

 The role of the messengers is to deliver the message of Allah but not to force anyone to believe because Allah wanted to ensure the fulfillment of the honor that He granted to man by allowing him to have the freedom to believe or not to believe. Allah says:

وَقُلِ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكُمۡ‌ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ فَلۡيُؤۡمِن وَمَن شَآءَ فَلۡيَكۡفُرۡ

“Say the truth from your Lord. Then, whosoever will, let him believe, and whosoever will, let him disbelieve.” (Al-Kahf 18: 29)

While every human being has been granted the right of free will by Allah to believe or not, but Allah made it clear that there is consequence for each decision.  Allah made the consequence of rejecting His signs and the advice of his messengers very clear.  He also identified for everyone the attributes of those who disbelieve and these are: arrogance, injustice and deceit. 

Allah also made it very clear that those people who possess these attributes and reject His message will not be granted the honor of being believers and thus places barriers for them. This should be a warning for anyone to be aware that his arrogance can lead him to this dangerous position.   But someone may still say why, can’t Allah give them more time, they may repent and become believers.  This argument shows lack of appreciation of Allah’s knowledge and wisdom because if Allah knew that they will repent, He would not have placed barriers on them.  Allah informs us of this to serve as advance warning.

One thing that we must realize is that Allah knows the invisible, the unseen, the hidden and thus we cannot compare our knowledge with His at all.  While to Allah is the greatest examples, let us consider an example of the case that you know for sure that the design and construction methods the responsible engineer are using will cause the building to collapse.  So, you gave him many advices and rationalize to him his mistakes but he continues to dismiss your input.  Then you give him many warnings about what will happen to him when the building collapses but he continues to ignore the warnings.  At the final stages of construction, the building collapses and he gets arrested and put to jail.  Would you have any sympathy for such a person whose arrogance led him to this miserable position.  

Allah’s knowledge is infinite and when He decides to stop giving a person the opportunity to believe, it is based on His knowledge of the unseen and that such a person will just not accept any advice or head any warnings. 

People often don’t appreciate the extent of Allah’s knowledge and this is a problem.   Allah gives us a very interesting example in Surat Al-An’am to give us a glimpse of His knowledge, He says:

وَعِندَهُ ۥ مَفَاتِحُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ لَا يَعۡلَمُهَآ إِلَّا هُوَ‌ۚ وَيَعۡلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ‌ۚ وَمَا تَسۡقُطُ مِن وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا يَعۡلَمُهَا وَلَا حَبَّةٍ۬ فِى ظُلُمَـٰتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا رَطۡبٍ۬ وَلَا يَابِسٍ إِلَّا فِى كِتَـٰبٍ۬ مُّبِينٍ۬ (٥٩)

“With Him are the keys of Al Ghaib (all that is invisible, unseen, hidden). No one knows them but He. He knows what is in the land and the sea. No leaf ever falls but that He knows about it, and there is no grain in the darkness of the earth, or anything fresh or dry but is written in a clear record.” (Al-Anam 6:59)

An interesting element in this verse is that Allah says that He knows about every leaf that falls down, when will it fall and where it will fall.  This is something visible for us, can we use the most powerful computer system and apply the most advanced mathematical model to predict where exactly a certain leaf will fall.   The answer is no.  We cannot because the parameters that influence the location of a fallen leaf are so vast and we have no way of knowing many of them.  

As example, we know that the trajectory of the leaf as it falls will depend on the leaf’s shape, size and weight distribution, the air temperature, and humidity as well as its density of viscosity.  Then we need to know all the time other things such as other leaves that are falling as well as birds and animals that may be moving and can impact the trajectory when the leaf is falling.   Then we have to develop a transient mathematical model that accounts for all these parameters. 

Allah tells us that He knows when each leaf will fall, what is its trajectory, where it will land, and what is going to happen to it after it lands.   But interesting that the verse also implies that all these predictions are based on clear and concise system that Allah has established.  So, why we want to question Allah regarding how does He know that such and such a person will never believe and thus writes him off and no longer gives him guidance.

While Allah tells us that knowing about the fallen leaf and where every grain is located are part of His knowledge of the unseen, He tells us that there are things that of the unseen that also follow specific mathematical models that we can drive to make predictions of the future, this is related to the movement of the sun and the moon. Allah says in Surat Al-Rahman:

ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ بِحُسۡبَانٍ۬

“The sun and the moon are (bound) by a mathematical calculation.” (Al-Rahman 55:5)

This is why you find that scientists are able to predict the time and place of the solar and lunar eclipses for many years in advance.  In fact, NASA has predictions to the year 3000.  But, no one can until now discover the proper model to predict earthquakes too far in advance, though they are also following certain divine laws that we don’t know, but Allah knows.

People need to have humility and stop questioning what Allah does.  But everyone should know that anyone who remains arrogant, he would have decreed for himself Allah’s rejection in this life and eternal punishment in the Hereafter. People have to realize who is Allah and give Him His due honor.  Unfortunately, most people don’t.  Allah says in Surat Al-Zumur:

وَمَا قَدَرُواْ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدۡرِهِۦ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ جَمِيعً۬ا قَبۡضَتُهُ ۥ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ وَٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتُ مَطۡوِيَّـٰتُۢ بِيَمِينِهِۦ‌ۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُ ۥ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ (الزُّمَر)

“They have not given Allah His true esteem that is due to Him. The whole of the earth is in His grasp on the Day of Resurrection and the heavens will be folded in His Right Hand. Glorified is He, and High is He above all that they associate with Him! (Az-Zumur 39: 67).

People who don’t heeds Allah’s warnings and don’t give Allah his due honor are deluded and will face the consequence of this grave mistake. Allah says:

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡڪَرِيمِ (٦) ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّٮٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ (٧) فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ۬ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ (٨) كَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ (٩) وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحَـٰفِظِينَ (١٠) كِرَامً۬ا كَـٰتِبِينَ (١١) يَعۡلَمُونَ مَا تَفۡعَلُونَ (١٢) إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ۬ (١٣) وَإِنَّ ٱلۡفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ۬ (١٤) يَصۡلَوۡنَہَا يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ (١٥) وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡہَا بِغَآٮِٕبِينَ (١٦)

“O man! What has made you deluded about your Lord, the Most Generous? (6) Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; (7) In whatever form He willed, He put you together. (8) Nay! But you deny the Day of Judgement. (9) While over you there are watchers, (10) Who are noble, writers (of the deeds), (11) Who know whatever you do. (12) Surely the righteous will be in bliss, (13) And the wicked will be in Hell, (14) In which they will enter on the Day of Judgement, (15) And they will never be absent from it.” (Al-Infitar 82:6-16)

 The reason for the faulty logic that people who raise questions about Allah’s decisions is that they apply finite logic to Allah’s infinite attributes.

If X + Y = X + Z

Is Y = Z

Yes, if X is finite number

No, if X is infinity

We pray to Allah to grant us to wisdom to appreciate the honor that He granted us by giving us the freedom of choice and that we should take advantage of this honor by only doing what is pleasing to Him

We also pray to Allah to grant us the commitment to always give Him His due status and honor by all what we say and do.
